Organic White Quinoa
Quinoa is a complete-protein source, meaning that it contains all nine of the essential amino acids, and it is also a good source of calcium, magnesium and manganese. It also contributes useful levels of several B vitamins, vitamin E and dietary fibre. Originally from high-altitude regions in South America, it is now popular in Europe for use as a rice or couscous alternative, and can be used in salads, stews and chilis.
Rinse well and bring to a boil in a pot of cold water at 1:2 ratio of quinoa to water.
Reduce heat and simmer for about 20 minutes until the quinoa has uncurled with the characteristic 'tails' coming out.
Take off the hob and let sit for about 5 minutes.
Fluff up with a fork and serve.
